Apple heeft versie 8 van iOS uitgebracht. Apples iOS is het besturingssysteem voor de iPhone, de iPod touch en de iPad. Versie 8 kan alleen op de iPhone 4s, iPad 2 en zesde generatie iPod touch of nieuwer worden geïnstalleerd en bevat een grote verzameling verbeteringen. Zo is er onder andere ondersteuning voor virtuele toetsenborden van derde partijen zoals Swype en Swiftkey gekomen, is er een Health-app, ondersteunt het OS Family Sharing en is de nieuwe iCloud Drive te activeren. Verder zijn er verbeteringen bij notificaties en Spotlight en zijn er vooral onder de motorkap wijzigingen doorgevoerd die ontwikkelaars meer mogelijkheden geven.
