NEW PIONEER ULTRA HD TVS UNVEILED

By Rasmus Larsen ( @flatpanels ) 09 May 2014 More Sharing Services1 Comment

Pioneer recently returned to the TV market. Next month, new Ultra HD TVs with a Pioneer logo slapped on will launch in the Nordic and possibly other European regions.

PIONEER ULTRA HD TVS Pioneer has returned to the European TV market, but in a very different form. UK retailer Dixons has acquired the rights to use the Pioneer logo, and Chinese TCL is helping them produce the TVs.

Two Ultra HD TVs have been unveiled in the Nordic countries. The Full HD TVs were launched late last year, and it was reported that the TVs would launch “in early 2014” in the UK, but so far nothing has materialized.

The new Ultra HD TVs have four times the pixels of regular Full HD TVs and will be available in 50 and 55 inch sizes. Both will 3D feature and three HDMI ports, but no HDMI 2.0.

The design is slightly different and the TVs have a new stand. USB recording and USB playback is included as well as a few TV apps. At the time of the Full HD TV launch Netflix was said to be integrated, but this information has later been removed and Netflix does not appear to be available in the Ultra HD TVs either.

The new Pioneer UHD TVs will launch in the four Nordic countries in June for around 1750 and 2000 Euro, exclusively at Dixons-owned stores. No details regarding a European launch have been announced.

Zeer deftige prijs voor een UHD TV, maar als ik dat zo lees is het een Chinees merk in disguise?
